The Value and Momentum Trader: Dynamic Stock Selection Models to Beat the Market (Wiley Trading)
Grant Henning
AWESOME! I just finished reading this book and was very impressed. I am a seasoned trader constantly looking for new tools to analysize stocks and markets. The terms and comcepts discussed make this book appropriate for those who have some experience with the equity markets, but you do not have to be a professional trader to glean great insite from this book. I highly recommend this book for all stock traders and investors, other than beginners. The chapters are interesting and full of personal experiences of the author, along with thought provoking questions on ethics regarding several types of trading. In this day of corporate greed at any cost, this is refreshing. The author candidly relates mistakes he has made and makes clear his thought processes in developing this system of trading tools. The technique of momentum trading is nothing new, but the way this author combines momentum analysis refined by value analysis adds a confidence level to short term trading by having underling fundamental strenght to fall back on should you get stuck in a position longer than you may have originally intended. You are not going to believe this, but the book includes a CD with the exel spreadsheet of the trading system and instructions. The spreadsheet is not locked and you can use it for your own trading work for free. You will have to do some work to enter data into the spreadsheet and you may want to adapt the spreadsheet for your personal trading style, but is no problem.
